A DAMART worker has received an apprenticeship award.
Lisa Gorman – a contact centre team leader with the home-shopping giant, whose warehousing facility is at Steeton – collected the 'rising star' accolade from Intec Business College.
She was nominated by her tutor, Emma Jones.
Lisa said the apprenticeship had provided a massive boost in helping her to develop her career.
"It has encouraged as much learning as possible on the job and I really appreciate the mentoring from my colleagues – as well as the opportunities that have arisen," she said.
Her manager at Damart, Richard Phillips, pays tribute.
"We have been so impressed by Lisa’s commitment," he said.
"She has combined both her day job and her studies to achieve her qualification.
"Lisa thrives when taking feedback and learning from others, which has enabled her to gain a great deal of knowledge and experience.
"We have the utmost confidence she will enjoy a rewarding and successful career following the completion of her apprenticeship programme."
Intec Business College stages the awards to coincide with National Apprenticeship Week.
