Never mind the biggest sporting event in the world coming to Craven at the weekend, it was another sporting legend - David Beckham - that got everyone taking on Twitter. The rumours started on Thursday, and by Friday, he had been spotted just about everywhere - from Betty's in Ilkley, to Skipton's Castle Inn - presumably enjoying a pint, and even on the train. But then came the proof - a picture apparently of him on Twitter, and apparently taken in the Skipton branch of Greggs. He was warmly dressed, with substantial jumper and hat, while the person he was pictured with was similarly warmly dressed, which was odd seeing as it was July. A quick call to the Greggs press office in Manchester and all became clear. The picture was an old favourite, so it seems, and last appeared on the Twitter in January - just about where it was taken is not clear, but certainly not in Skipton and certainly not over the weekend.
