As part of the Forest of Bowland's 50th anniversary celebrations, proceeds from a raffle will go towards enhancing the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Champion Bowland organised the raffle that raised nearly £1,000 and the group now wants to offer the money as a one-off Jubilee award to a project in the AONB area that will have a lasting environmental or landscape impact. The trustees are looking to support a project that conserves or enhances the area's landscape, has a lasting impact and involves the local community, especially young people. Community groups, environmental organisations, volunteers and youth groups are all invited to apply. To apply, download an application form at championbowland.org.uk and submit by February 10, 2015.
