TEENAGER David Brewer is cock-a-hoop after success at a top poultry event.

The 19-year-old from Cononley won the championship title at the Craven Feather Auctions show and sale at Skipton.

He took the honours with his first-prize large fowl pen, a trio of White Silkies, which also sold for the day's top price of £120.

David, who is studying primary education at Leeds Beckett University, began breeding poultry a decade ago.

He also keeps Rhode Island Reds.

Support has been provided over the years by fellow Cononley poultry breeders, husband and wife Keith and Anne Chatburn.

Reserve championship at the event went to a trio of 22-week-old Partridge Wyandotte pullets.

The show judge was John Falshaw.

The next Craven Feather Auctions show and sale is the Christmas fixture on Saturday, December 9. Entries close on December 1.
