PUPILS in Year 8 at Giggleswick School are preparing to stage in Willy Russell’s much loved musical Our Day Out.
Set in impoverished 1970’s Liverpool, Mrs Kay’s ‘Progress Class’ are unleashed for a day’s coach trip to Alton Towers, and they can hardly believe their luck!
“That its until Mr Briggs gets on board,” said director Katie Baskeyfield. “When he changes the destination to Wales, the kids launch a battle of wits against Mr Briggs to ensure they have as much fun as possible.”
The small cast have been working hard, said Miss Baskeyfield, who added: “Their commitment and passion for the show has been excellent and they will only continue to improve in the run up to their performance.”
Our Day Out plays at the Richard Whiteley Theatre at 7pm on Tuesday. For tickets visit giggleswick.org.uk/rwt or call 01729 893180
