SKIPTON: A Great Gatsby themed charity event will be held at 7pm on Saturday at The Rendezvous Hotel on Keighley Road.

The dress code is 1920's attire but otherwise smart dress, and there will be performances by the band Black and Gold and Glusburn singer Niamh Mirfield.

The event is fundraiser for Manorlands Hospice.

The free exhibition Memento will be on display until Monday, September 3, in the exhibition gallery at Skipton Town Hall.

The exhibition by Paul Miller will explore Skipton Town Hall itself - the building, the history and the people; the sights and sounds, past and present, creating a remixed reality using sound, paintings, video and projection mapping as an installation.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays.

A variety of summer workshops will take place until Thursday, August 30, in Skipton Town Hall.

A tea dance featuring Blackpool Tower resident organist John Bowdler will be held at 1.30pm on Tuesday, September 11, in Skipton Town Hall. Tickets cost £8 including sweet treats and unlimited tea and coffee.

Gary Stewart and his seven-piece band will perform Paul Simon's landmark Graceland album at 8pm on Saturday, August 25.

The Westenders will perform their World's Greatest Musicals show at 7.30pm on Sunday, August 26.

Settle Stories will screen the film Edge of Obedience, which touches on current issues in the Muslim world surrounding artistic expression and religious freedoms, at 7pm on Thursday, September 20, at The Joinery.

The summer exhibition Cornucopia will be on display until Saturday, August 24, at Gavagan Art in Settle Town Hall.

The exhibition feature prints and ceramics by London-based Charlotte Hodes, figurative paintings by Cornish-based artist Richard Tuff, lithographs by Karolina Larusdottir, William Clayton's trompe-l'œil oil painting and abstract paintings and prints by artists Jacquie Denby, David Cook and Milan Ivanic.

Knitted Settle, an exhibition of knitted pictures of buildings in Settle, will be on display at The Folly until December 22.

The exhibition Life and Tradition in the Yorkshire Dales - A Celebration, which focuses on a book by Dales authors Marie Hartley and Joan Ingilby and gives a glimpse into the everyday lives of Dales people, will be on display at The Folly until December 22.

Archaos, an exhibition by Ingrid Stephenson which explores the duality of creation and decay, will be on display at the Gallery on the Green until Saturday, September 8.

BARNOLDSWICK: Dave Speight will give a Masterclass in the Blues free concert on Monday, September 24, at the Barnoldswick Music and Arts Centre, on Rainhall Road. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

CROSS HILLS: Creative Fusion – A Journey, an exhibition of creative work by people supported by Horton Housing Association in the Craven area, will go on display in Cross Hills Library from September 12 to 26.

GRASSINGTON: The Vacation Chamber Orchestra, the north’s only training orchestra, will perform at 7.30pm on Thursday, August 23, at Grassington Town Hall.

Schmitt's Lied et Scherzo, Czyz's Canzona di Barocco, Haydn's Cello Concerto in C, Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending and Schubert's Symphony No 5.

The Vacation Chamber Orchestra will also perform a summer lunchtime concert at 1.30pm on Sunday, August 26, at the Airton Friends Meeting's House in Airton.

Entrance is free to the hour-long recital with donations collected to be divided between VaCO and Airton Friends Meeting's piano fundraising appeal.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available from 12.30pm and concert-goers are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the grounds before the recital.

KELBROOK: An art exhibition will be held over the August Bank Holiday weekend at Kelbrook Village Hall.

The exhibition, which will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, August 25, and Monday, August 27, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday, August 26, will include 300 pieces of artwork to view and buy, a raffle of two paintings by Joy Haigh and John Allen and homemade refreshments.

Admission is free, but all proceeds will go to local charities.
