Keighley Vocal Union has a busy few weeks ahead, with a tour of Holland and two major concerts.

The 103-year-old choir, which rehearses in Sutton, is spending this weekend performing in Delft, Leiden and Amsterdam.

Members will also perform in the show bar of the ferry during both their outward and return voyages.

Next Sunday, May 31, the choir will perform Haydn’s oratorio Creation at Skipton’s Holy Trinity Church at 7.30pm.

It will be exactly 200 years since Haydn died and there will be renditions across the world.

The Vocal Union believes it is the only British choir taking part in the event.

Soloists will be Paul Gibson, from Opera North, Amanda Forbes and Stephen Brown and accompanist will Ellis Wright, who has been with the choir for 40 years.

Next month, Keighley Vocal Union teams up with the renowned Aurin Girls Choir from Hungary for another concert at Holy Trinity Church. It will take place on Saturday June 27.

Tickets for the Skipton concerts are available by phoning 07802 933913.
