THE Don’t Go Into The Cellar Theatre Company will perform a rescheduled performance of The Singular Exploits of Sherlock Holmes at St Mary the Virgin Church in Ingleton at 7.30pm this Saturday.
The original performance on November 4 had to be postponed due to a last minute family emergency by a member of the stage crew.
Tickets for the original performance are still valid, but new ones will be available on the door at a cost of £6.
Fancy dress is optional for audience members, as Ingleton shop Uncle Jeremy’s Household will offer a cash prize of £100 for the best dressed character from a Sherlock Holmes story.
Sherlock Holmes’ author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has many connections with the Ingleton area, as his mother lived in Masongill near Ingleton and the author married first wife in the nearby village of Thornton-in-Lonsdale.
Uncle Jeremy’s Household is also named after an 1885 Conan Doyle short story set in and around Ingleton.
