The icy conditions saw the appearance of a 10ft polar bear in Beamsley this week.
But there was no cause for concern β it was a collage, created by infant children at Boyle and Petyt Primary School as part of their project on snow and ice.

Also as part of their topic, youngsters built an igloo, studied the Antarctic Survey and looked at other polar anmials.
