Young archaeologists from Upper Wharfedale School, Threshfield, are staging a “finds day” at Grassington Town Hall.
It will take place on Saturday and is an opportunity for members of the public to bring in archaeological finds that they may have come across in their gardens or local area.
Archaeologists and historians will help identify the artefacts and students from the school's archaeology club will be on hand to assist. It will run from 1pm to 3pm.
“Over the years people have found all sorts of interesting objects and the day will be an opportunity to learn all about them,” said John Mitton, head of humanities at Upper Wharfedale School.
He added it was rare for schools to have archaeology clubs, but it was great for children who were not interested in sport but wanted to be part of a team.
