Foundation stage children at Skipton’s St Stephen’s Nursery and Primary School have been given £500 worth of resources for their outdoor area.
DIY store JACS has stepped in to help staff replenish the existing resources, with donations of helmets, poles, buckets, tool belts, cones and safety goggles.
“The water, building, and construction equipment is loved by the children,” said a school spokesman, “However it soon wears out as the children play outside throughout the year. The items donated by JACS will provide opportunities for learning in all areas of the early years curriculum.”
After visiting the Yorkshire Water building site opposite the school on Gargrave Road, the children are keen to establish a building site role-play area in the new site.
The donation was initiated by a member of staff, whose close relative works for JACS, on Snaygill Industrial Estate, Skipton.
