Grassington has completed the first stage of its community-led plan.
Known as G-Plan, it will list the issues that matter to the community and indicate what the village would and would not like to see happen. The steering group has posted a leaflet to every household, business and organisation in the village and held information sessions in its mission to find out what should be included in the questionnaire phase.
So far traffic and housing are showing up as important subjects, with younger residents keen to see the lighting up of the playground during early evenings in winter.
Grassington Parish Council has agreed to donate £500 to assist with phases two and three of the plan.
Phase two is writing a questionnaire covering the main issues raised by residents and delivering it to every household and collecting responses, while phase three involves the steering group writing the plan from the responses received. It will describe the future vision for Grassington and will feature an action plan.
Once agreed, the plan will be submitted to the parish council, Craven District Council and Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to inform their decision making.
