Three dedicated blood donors from Skipton have been recognised for helping to save lives.
They were honoured at an awards event held by NHS Blood and Transplant at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Thomas Davison and Margaret Fletcher were recognised for making 100 donations, while Barbara Rhodes received an award for giving 75 donations.
The awards were presented by Jayne Snell, a mother-of-two from Selby, who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Synd-rome, a rare blood cancer, in February 2011. The following year, Jayne received numerous transfusions to keep her alive.
Donna Batty, lead donor relations manager at NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “We would like to thank these donors for their commitment and dedication to blood donation.
“They are an inspiration to us all.”
