A man has fallen to his death at Malham Cove.
The man, who was aged 39, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics on Sunday evening.
A police spokesman said: “Officers attended Malham Cove at 8.15pm following a call from Humberside police expressing concerns for a 39-year-old man who had been reported missing from their area.
“A short time later they located the body of a man matching the description of the missing man. “He was sadly declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and no-one else in being sought in connection with the incident.
“Formal identification has not yet taken place. A file will be prepared on behalf of the coroner.”
His body was recovered by members of the Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organsiation.
