Following mass resignations in November, Long Preston Parish Council is trying to co-opt six new members.
All but one member of the council resigned following long-term disputes with a small number of residents.
Now the electoral officer at Craven District Council has confirmed that no valid request has been received for an election so the parish council can co-opt members to fill the vacancies. The successful candidates will serve until May when all of the council is up for re-election.
Anyone interested should write to the clerk of the council at 8 Milestone House, Main Street, Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, LA6 2FE or email clerk@longprestonpc. org.uk. Further information is available on the noticeboard of the council website, longprestonpc.org.uk.
