Parish council: At the March meeting of Ingleton Parish Council, members supported the application for the demolition of 16 garages and the erection of six new dwellings for affordable rent with associated parking on land off Burnmoor Crescent. Members objected to the change of use from commercial and domestic premises to full residential use of the Post Office, 8 High Street, Ingleton, as the property was within the core business boundary of the village. A deep pothole on Lowkber Lane was reported along with a twisted road sign on Oddies Lane. The chairman brought members up to date on the progress for several street lights in the community centre car park. It was felt unacceptable that so many lights should be out and the clerk was instructed to write a letter of objection to Electricity Northwest. The chairman confirmed that the temporary Post Office would be starting at the community centre this week, opening two days a week. The drainage problem at the centre has hopefully been resolved. Members heard £900 had been raised at the swimming pool jumble sale and plans were progressing for the splash park.
