Space and the universe had lift off at Settle Primary School.
Peter Riley, author of more than 100 primary science books and a national science curriculum adviser, gave a series of Easter lectures on space and exploration.
Mr Riley has been working closely with Settle Primary School to develop resources and strategies for delivering the new science curriculum which comes into effect in September.
A number of ideas and activities piloted at Settle are now being used on a national level.
Headteacher Richard Wright said: “The Easter lectures are designed to stimulate a fascination of all things science and to get the children marvelling about the world they live in. We are very grateful to Mr Riley for his input.”
