Pupils at Eastburn Junior and Infant School have produced some eggs-traordinary creations.

Youngsters took part in a house competition to decorate hard-boiled eggs as characters, and then place them in settings.

“The children put lots of effort into it and we had some impressive creations – it was very difficult to judge the entries,” said headteacher Jan Elliott.

“All those who took part received prizes of chocolate eggs.” The school also staged an Easter Eggs-travaganza on Thursday, which featured a range of attractions including a themed tombola, cake stall and crafts, and there was a Mad Hatter competition.
