Organisers of Skipton Horse Trials will be looking for a new main sponsor after this year's silver jubilee event.

The twice yearly event, held over two weekends in June and in August, has been sponsored by Skipton Building Society for the past five years.

But next year the event - which attracts thousands of people and top event riders, such as Ruth Edge and Ben Hobday - will be looking for new backers.

Meanwhile, SBS says it has been proud to see it increase in popularity and is looking forward to this year's special anniversary event.

Dav id Cutter, Skipton's group chief executive, said: "It's wonderful to see so many sportsmen and women returning each year to Skipton to take part in the horse trials. We're of course a little biased, but I can't think there will be too many other eventing competitions with such wonderful scenery on view from every aspect of the extensive course."

Skipton Horse Trials will take place on June 14 and 15 and on August 2 and 3 at Funkirk Farm, off the A59 between Skipton and Broughton. For more details go to the skiponhorsetrials website.
