A CLOSED meeting of Craven District Council concluded that lessons had been learnt, according to its chairman.
An extraordinary meeting of the council took place earlier this month following the request by five councillors to discuss senior staffing issues, including the departure of finance head, Joanna Miller.
The meeting went into private session after more than a hour with some councillors calling for the whole debate to be held in open.
After the meeting, council chairman, Cllr Linda Brockbank said: “After much debate the meeting went into private session and so I cannot comment on the discussion that took place which gave members a better understanding of the situation."
She added that members had agreed a resolution which would be taken to the next full council meeting for confirmation.
The resolution read: "That members have learnt a lesson, after much debate we accept that mistakes may have been made and will strive to ensure that measures are put in place to prevent this happening again for the benefit of Craven District Council staff, members and the public.”
