THE National Trust and the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust have joined forces to organise a free workshop on natural methods of flood management.
The event should be of particular interest to farmers and landowners concerned about flooding and there will be a number of speakers from bodies including Environment Agency, Catchment Sensitive Farming and JBA Consulting.
They will focus on simple, low cost measures to reduce flood risk, including soil management techniques, methods of slowing peak water flow and riverbank protection.
The workshop will take place at Fountains Abbey on the morning of Thursday, December 18, and will be followed by a free sandwich lunch.
