SKIPTON MP Julian Smith is backing the Social Mobility Foundation’s free programmes, which supports high-achieving year 12 students from less-privileged backgrounds to access top universities and professions.
Ninety five per cent of past students say they are more confident about being able to enter their chosen profession and the organisation is now encouraging more people to apply this year.
Mr Smith said: “The Social Mobility Foundation is supported by a range of businesses, organisations and politicians from across all parties. It aims to give young people from less-privileged backgrounds the support they need, free of charge, to access leading universities and professions.
"I would encourage anyone in year 12 considering their future to look into the scheme and see how it could work for them.”
