A MAN of 36 was found hanging at his family home and died despite attempts to resuscitate him, an inquest was told.

Andrew Filkin, of Main Street, Sutton-in-Craven, died on July 13, the hearing was told.

Mr Filkin had been depressed after the breakdown of a relationship and had taken an overdose of paracetamol several days before. He had been found on Cowling Moor and rushed to Airedale Hospital by air ambulance, coroner Rob Turnbull was told.

Mental health nurse Alison Smith said she had interviewed Mr Filkin at the hospital. He had talked about problems with the break-up and a problem with work, but said he was determined to get on with his life.

But he had later 'bombarded' his former girlfriend with texts and said he thought life was not worth living.

Mr Turnbull said there were no suspicious circumstances in Mr Filkin's death and he had taken his own life in sad and tragic circumstances.
