YOUNG, talented athletes living in West Craven could qualify for support with training and competition costs.
Anyone aged between 12 and 18, who lives in Pendle and has represented the county in their sport, may be eligible for help with training or possibly a grant.
In partnership with Pendle Borough Council, Pendle Leisure Trust is offering free, unlimited use of Pendle’s swimming pools, fitness rooms, athletics track and exercises classes, as a means of assisting with training programmes.
Pendle Leisure Trust’s sports development manager Clive Escreet said: “This scheme recognises the importance of supporting Pendle’s young people in achieving their sporting goal.
“Through the creation of the Talented Athletes Fund, young sportsmen and women will be helped and encouraged to compete in regional, national and even international competitions.”
For an application pack, email Amy Trickett at amy.trickett@pendleleisuretrust.co.uk or ring her on 01282 661225.
All applications need to be returned to Amy at Pendle Leisure Centre by March 31.
