COWLING School was one of the stops on Labour Parliamentary Candidate Malcolm Birks' Ride for Fairness.

He was invited into year four to see the posters the pupils had made about democracy, tolerance and justice, and to talk about the national election.

The pupils were given the opportunity to tell the Labour candidate what their priorities would be if they were politicians. Their ideas ranged from stopping speeding through Cowling and introducing composting schemes in all schools to sharing the money between the rich and the poor and helping other countries to have free speech.

The pupils were delighted to watch Mr Birks transform his bike trailer into a campaign stand and made sure their messages were posted onto his billboard before he rode away.
