PENDLE Council is urging residents who cannot make it to a polling station on election day to request a postal or proxy vote.
The deadline for postal voting applications is 5pm on Tuesday, April 21, and for proxy voting applications it is 5pm on Tuesday, April 28.
Application forms to appoint a proxy or to request a postal vote are available to download from the Pendle Council website pendle.gov.uk or they can also be requested by calling 01282 661662 or emailing elections@pendle.gov.uk.
The elections on Thursday, May 7, are for the UK Parliament, Pendle Borough Council and town and parish councils across Pendle.
There are elections in 17 borough council wards, with 16 councillors up for re-election plus two vacancies.
Pendle residents have until Monday, April 20, to get on the Register of Electors, to be eligible to vote in May.
Residents can register at Contact Pendle, in Number One Market Street, Nelson, or in the Barnoldswick Council Shop.
It can also be done online at gov.uk/register-to-vote or ring Pendle Council’s elections team on 01282 661919 or 01282 661662 for help.
