STEETON Male Voice Choir has presented the coveted red jackets to two of their newest members.

Stephen Myers, from Sutton, and Bernard Clement, from Lothersdale, officially became members of the top 10 section.

Top tenor Tim Bastow presented the jackets – as worn by all performing members of the choir – during a recent rehearsal.

The pair were due to perform their first concert with the Steeton singers at Hetton Methodist Church on Saturday.

Choir spokesman Eric Parker said: “The choir is continuing to attract new men to our ranks and a further six are also attending rehearsals to be concert ready in the near future.”

“Our recruiting officer Ken Wardell is always available to talk to new men wishing to explore the possibilities of joining a male voice choir.”
