THERE has been a surge in interest for Yorkshire holidays following this year's successful Tour De Yorkshire, according to leading property specialists holidaycottages.co.uk.
The Yorkshire Dales has proved to be the most popular area with a 600 per cent increase in searches since the event took place at the beginning of May.
The race went through parts of South Craven, including Sutton, Cross Hills, Kildwick, Silsden and Addingham.
The holiday company says that the weekend of the Tour de Yorkshire saw an increase in searches for Yorkshire of 2,909 per cent from the weekend before.
And it adds that since then bookings for holidays in the county have increased by 77.8 per cent compared to the same period last year and searches have increased by 74.5 per cent from the previous year.
