UPPER Wharfedale Heritage Group will take The Road to Bolton Abbey next Thursday, August 6.
Its latest walk will start from Embsay, the original site of the monastery that subsequently relocated to Bolton Abbey, and will investigate the historic landscape, boundaries and vernacular buildings.
The original buildings at Embsay were maintained until the Dissolution and the track connecting the two sites can still be followed.
The three-mile walk will start from the Main Street car park at 2pm and will finish at Calm Slate Farm (Billy Bob's ice cream parlour). Transport will be provided from the ice cream parlour for the return.
All are welcome and the cost is £1 for UWHG members and £2 for visitors.
