FAR from bringing tears to the eyes, onions at the Lister Arms, Malham, are responsible for smiles among local schoolchildren.
For, the Dales pub is donating 25p from every portion of onion rings sold to Kirkby Malham Primary School.
Over the year, they have sold 1,800 portions which has raised £450 for the school.
The money will be used to provide the children with learning experiences above and beyond the normal curriculum.
