A 30-YEAR-OLD man has pleaded guilty to raping a boy aged four and taking indecent photographs of him.
Tyler Lyness was warned by a judge at Bradford Crown Court today that he will go to jail for a long time.
Lyness, of Williams Road, Steeton, is being held in Leeds Prison awaiting sentence on April 14 for seven offences involving the rape and sexual abuse of the child and making indecent photos of children, all committed last year.
Lyness appeared before the court on a video link from the prison.
Ian Howard, barrister for the Crown, asked Judge Neil Davey QC to adjourn the case so that detailed information can be obtained on the impact of the offending on the little boy.
Gerald Hendron, barrister for Lyness, asked for a probation report.
"He is realistic that he will be receiving a substantial custodial sentence," Mr Hendron said.
Judge Davey said the probation service would explore the issue of how much danger Lyness posed to the general public.
Mr Hendron asked to see a copy of any proposed Sexual Harm Prevention Order by April 12.
Lyness is now registered with the police as a sex offender.
Judge Davey said his guilty pleas would earn him credit but he would receive a long jail sentence.
