GRASSINGTON singer Meghann Clancy will headline at a special music gig at Hettie's Cafe Bistro, in Skipton, on Saturday.

It is the bistro's second live gig, following a successful performance from Chris Simpson and Magna Carta last April.

This time, the focus will be on Meghann, a former pupil of Skipton Girls' High School, who writes indie-folk songs, delivered with a pure yet powerful vocal.

She has been described as “everything you could ever wish for in a female vocalist ... a striking singer/songwriter, whose open approach to lyrics often leaves a listener breathless”.

Meghann, who accompanies herself on piano and acoustic guitar, will be joined on stage by multi-instrumentalist Paul Emmett and Newcastle-based singer Laurie Shepherd.

Expect intricate harmonies and sweeping melodies as they perform self-composed songs and favourite covers.

Doors open at 7pm, with a stand-up supper and a complimentary glass of Prosecco on arrival. The live music will start at 8pm, with an interval for further refreshments.

Tickets are £18.50 and are available from Hettie's on 01756 790949. Spaces are limited, so booking is recommended.
