A PARTNERSHIP serving Skipton, Settle, Barnoldswick and Wharfedale is celebrating 60 years of providing accommodation and care for older people.
Throughout next week, Abbeyfield The Dales Ltd will be opening the doors of its homes in North and West Yorkshire to celebrate the landmark date.
Established in 1956, the Abbeyfield Society provides residential care and support to older people. The organisation has 601 homes and houses in the UK and overseas, in which staff and 4,000 volunteers support 8,000 older people living in a family-like atmosphere.
Events include an afternoon tea at Abbeyfield House in Lower Greenfoot, Settle, on Wednesday from 4.30pm and a 50s coffee morning and summer social at Woodlands, Skipton, next Saturday, June 18, from 10am on June 18.
