LOCAL school pupils have been showing off their athletic process at an event in North Yorkshire.
A group of nearly 30 youngsters from Sutton Community Primary School travelled to Ashville College, in Harrogate, to take part in the Brownlee Foundation Triathlon.
Sutton CP headteacher Fiona Beetles said pupils and parent helpers had a "fabulous" time at the event.
She added: "Twenty-eight wonderful triathletes from years five and six participated in an 80-metre swim, an 800-metre cycle and a 400-metre run, along with children from 30 other primary schools.
"Everyone displayed a truly amazing attitude and did us proud with their fantastic efforts in the glorious sunshine at Ashville College.
"We would like to say a huge 'thank you' to both our parent helpers for their time, support and encouragement, and to the organisers of the event. We will be back next year."
The contest was founded by Olympic medallists Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee, whose foundation helps children get active in and benefit from any kind of sport – not just triathlon.
