SETTLE Swimming Pool has received £1,022 funding, thanks to the town's Royal Oak Hotel.
Ingleton based, Country Village Inns, which owns the hotel, has a keen community spirit and wanted to do what it could to support the pool, which recently lost its regular funding from Craven District Council.
And on the second day of the Tour de Yorkshire, which ended in Settle, Country Village Inns marketing director, Alice Todd, organised the raffle of a race bike - with all funds going to the pool.
Mat Cooper, company director, said “I’m so pleased we have raised this much for the pool. It needs all the support it can get and I’m pleased that our venue in Settle was there to help out. The swimming pool were over the moon when we told them and so grateful for our support.”
Country Village Inns will continue to work on other community fund raising events over the next year.
