A SCHEME by Bentham Town Council to build two homes on a former playing field is being recommended for approval.
Outline planning permission for the site off Bank View in Low Bentham is being sought by the council, which plans to use the money to improve recreation facilities at the former primary school field.
The site, which is outside the development limits of the town, previously was used as a play area. But after the play equipment fell into disrepair, it was removed ten years ago, and the facility closed to the public in August last year.
Craven District Council has received five letters from residents opposed to the scheme, with objections including impact on nearby properties, highways issues and and loss of recreation land.
The application will be decided on Monday at Craven District Council's planning committee, when it is recommended by officers for approval.
