NURSERY school youngsters have been testing out new furniture developed by a Keighley company.

Three and four-year-olds from Handprints Nursery in Silsden took a hands-on approach to product reviewing.

And they were praised for their feedback by British Thornton, which is launching the Trudy Nursery range later this year.

The furniture features innovative play and safety features and is coated in a groundbreaking anti-bacterial lacquer, aimed at helping to reduce the spread of infection in nurseries.

"We designed this new range with pre-schoolers in mind, so what better way to put it to the test than to give it to the children who will actually be using it?" said Jonathan Clark, British Thornton's product design director.

"They were brilliant product testers and it was great to see them enjoying using the equipment, as well as getting their invaluable feedback."

Hannah Wiggin, manager at Handprints, said the children were delighted to be given the role.

"They loved their day being official product testers," she added.

"The furniture is wonderful and we were very pleased to be approached by British Thornton to be part of the process."

The youngsters were filmed during the testing and the footage is due to feature in a national product launch later this year.
