HIGH performing Skipton Girls' High School has won a national Good Schools Guide Award.
The school was recognised in the awards for girls success at GCSE in design and technology and food technology - for which it out performed all other schools in its category.
The prestigious annual awards, which are in their tenth year, are based on a detailed analysis of the most recent examination results, and are designed to highlight consistently good teaching.
Headteacher, Jenn Plews said; "We are absolutely delighted to be acknowledged in this way for our excellence in girls taking design and technology and food technology at an English grammar school. This is a very proud moment for Skipton Girls’ High School and we are sure it will inspire and encourage all pupils who are working toward their GCSE and A levels."
Ralph Lucas, editor of The Good Schools Guide, said: "Our annual awards scheme is designed to recognise and reward excellence in teaching in every subject area at both GCSE and A Level or equivalent. Our awards give individual teachers and departments where teaching is at its very best the recognition they deserve."
