AN ACTOR was today in a serious condition in intensive care following a motorcycle crash in Skipton.
Martin Barrass, who lives in York and has been a fixture of the Theatre Royal’s pantomime for decades, was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary after the crash, which took place at about 3pm on Saturday in Newbridge Lane, Halton East.
It is understood he has suffered serious internal injuries and remains unconscious.
Mr Barrass appeared in Emmerdale in the 1980s, and is a regular performer with the Hull Truck Theatre Company.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said an investigation was under way into a crash which also involved a silver Vauxhall Astra.
Witnesses should contact police on 101 quoting job number 319 of Saturday, September 10.
