FORMER classmates of an Ermysted's Grammar School headboy who died earlier this year are staging a concert on Friday, December 23 in his memory.

Chris Greenwood, from Silsden, was a popular student at the school who also played in the Big Band. He was just 26 years old and was working as a television producer when he died in London in the summer.

Now, some of his old friends are getting together for an informal concert at Christ Church.

Mark Parker, who now lives in London, said: "Chris was a classmate of mine, and we played in the school big band together. More than that, he was a friend. So, a few of us ex-Big Banders are doing an informal concert in his memory, featuring the jazz standards that we used to play together."

Sax player, Sam Newbould, will be coming over from Amsterdam, where he is studying music, Tom Crapper, on guitar, now lives in Harrogate, and bass player, Joel Stockton, lives in Hull.

Entry to the concert, which will start at 7.30pm, is free, but donations will be collected in Chris's name for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) and the National Youth Theatre.
