THE A59, the main road between Skipton and Harrogate has now reopened at Kexgill, near Blubberhouses, after being shut for more than a week.
The carriageway was closed after heavy rain caused a landslide brought down 100 tonnes of material onto the road on Friday June 15.
Highways engineers then had to carry out technical and safety tests to the bank, which led to further draining and stabilising works.
Traffic was diverted through Otley and Ilkley while the road was closed. It was eventually reopened on Sunday night.
Unfortunately there will be further disruption next month when part of the road is resurfaced. This is not connected to the landslide.
The road - which links Skipton and Harrogate - will be closed between 10pm and 6am for three days starting on Monday July 16.
