SKIPTON Academy principal Wendy Hamilton is to leave the school at the end of the current half term.
Ms Hamilton, the first principal at the school following its conversion to academy status in September, 2014, is moving to another school in the area.
The managing Craven Educational Trust said it had accepted her resignation and was now working on arrangements to ensure the school continued to be managed effectively.
Ms Hamilton will leave the school at the end of half term on Friday, February 17.
Robert Bellfield, Craven Executive Officer of the trust, said: “The trust wishes Ms Hamilton well in her new role and is grateful for her contribution to the school over the last two years. The trust is working on interim arrangements to ensure the school continues to be managed effectively when the principal leaves and parents and staff will be informed of these arrangements soon”.
Parents were informed by letter of Ms Hamilton's resignation yesterday.
