MORE than 400 former teachers and old friends met up to mark a school's 50th anniversary.
South Craven School, in Cross Hills, was 50 years old on June 7, but put off its main celebrations until the end of exams.
On Friday, hundreds of former teachers, including two former heads - Keith Hardy and John Vickers -attended special anniversary celebrations.
The school's Pauline Kennedy said: "Many toured the school to see how it had grown and changed and special screens were set up to show pictures of students from the past."
Some enjoyed a disco, while others were able to catch up on old times, chatting in a makeshift piano room set up in the Post 16 Lounge.
Mrs Kennedy added: "A buffet was served and students and teachers from across the years mingled and caught up with each other."
As well as former headteachers, original teacher Earnest Haggas was one of the guests.
The event raised around £2,000 for Manorlands Hospice.
