A NEW book has been launched featuring artists and writers past and present who have been inspired by the magnificent landscape of North Craven.
Called "Connections: artists and writers in North Craven", the book was launched at Settle's historic Folly by the North Craven Building Preservation Trust.
The 84-page illustrated book, with a foreword by Giggleswick author Bill Mitchell, features four trails leading readers around the area to discover the many fascinating connections between people and places.
It also contains a biographical section and suggestions for further reading.
At Saturday's launch, Mr Mitchell commended the book for its content and presentation and spoke of the memories it brought back for him of his first acquaintance with North Craven 60 years ago.
Artists Philippa Troutman and Tony Roberts and local author Helene Wiggin, all of whose work is included in the book, then spoke about the inspiration they gained from working in the area.
Copies of the book, which is priced at £3.99, are available from local tourist information centres, Archway Books in Settle, and other local outlets.
Further information on how to obtain the book by post can be found on the trust's website www.ncbpt.org.uk/folly
