THE headteacher of Lothersdale Community School has been shortlisted as primary headteacher of the year.
Mary Hastings-Trew is one of three primary headteachers in the Yorkshire and Humber region to be nominated in The Teaching Awards.
"It's very good for a small village school and good for the whole community," she said.
The awards recognise excellence in all aspects of teaching. The winners will be announced at The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate, on Wednesday. They will then go forward to the final in London in October.
