A 68 YEAR old man has been given a community sentence with 100 hours unpaid work after admitting assaulting his wife.
Michael Marshall assaulted his wife twice at the family home in Main Street, Embsay, over two weeks in September last year, heard Skipton Magistrates.
The court heard on both occasions he had grabbed his wife by her hair and her head had hit a wall.
Marshall, now of Brooklands Terrace, Skipton, was given a 12 month community order and in addition to the 100 hours unpaid work will have to complete up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days. He will also have to pay costs of £200 and surcharge of £85.
