A 53-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital with serious leg and head injuries after being knocked off his bike in Barnoldswick on Sunday morning.
Police have issued a witness appeal following the head-on crash between a Ford Ka and the cyclist in Rainhall Road.
The man is said to have come off his bike, hit the windscreen of the car with his head and fallen to the floor during the collision at 10.10am on Sunday.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a fractured left leg and suspected head injuries.
Police said he was conscious and breathing at the scene.
The female driver of the Ka is not thought to have been injured.
The road was closed for three hours while the man was treated and investigation work was carried out.
Inspector John Fryer said: “This was a serious collision and I would appeal for any witnesses to call the police on 101, quoting log 0467 of April 2nd.”
