A SPIKY visitor went to Glusburn Community Primary School to meet pupils.
There were pointed remarks as Georgina the hedgehog give an insight into the Bingley charity Hedgehog Emergency Rescue.
The children raised £46 through a hedgehog colouring competition and a ‘name the hedgehog competition’.
Amelia Wilcock came up with the winning name Francesca, while Benjamin Fearnly and Amy Wagstaff won the colouring competition with Iris Reay the runner-up.
Sheila Stephenson, a resident at Townend Anchor Housing in Cross Hills, also visited the school.
She had been knitting hedgehogs to sell to help raise funds, and presented a cheque to Stephanie Murie, from the rescue centre, for £125.
Hedgehog Emergency Rescue, Bingley Yorkshire (HERBY) was set up in April 2015 and looks after sick and injured wild hedgehogs.
