A FESTIVAL of light is to arise from the ashes of a community bonfire which collapsed a victim of health and safety rules.
Ingleton Autumn Lights Festival will illuminate the village on Saturday, October 21, replacing the traditional plot night celebrations and flood lighting a number of community events.
Organiser, Hannah Lambert, said:"It has grown over the last ten months into an event that has something for everyone.
"We felt it was paramount to offer something different and not to clash with our neighbouring villages who also put much time and effort into organising their more traditional bonfire events."
Among the entertainment would be home-grown talent with the Blue Moose dance company, Ingleton theatre group and the keep fit ladies tap and line dancing club.
Live music would be provided by Back from Beyond, the Old Post Office would be running a licensed bar and there would be a magic show, an indoor country market and fun fair.
