Forget afternoon tea at Betty's, Harrogate, how about morning coffee at Betty's in Horton-in-Ribblesdale?
Betty Carr of Bracken Bottom, Horton-in-Ribblesdale has for several years organised a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for the charity that has supported so many of her friends and family.
At 86 years old Betty has done a wonderful job and continues to keep the spirits up in a community which has been hit hard recently with the closure of the village primary school.
All of the cakes and sweet treats were baked by Betty and her friends and raffle tickets sold to villagers, all willing to support a charity close to many hearts. With the help of her many friends, Betty managed to raise a phenomenal £777!!!
